DC Expert.
Monitoring battery life is one of the most challenging aspects of UPS ownership.
DC Expert is a built-in battery monitoring system that helps administrators and
managers meet the challenges they face. The system provides accurate information
on run time and battery health, allowing organizations to avoid load losses due
to unexpected battery failure. While competitive battery monitoring systems
usually estimate run time with an +/- 20 percent fluctuation in accuracy, DC
Expert run time information is accurate within +/- 3 percent. Battery run time
is displayed on a large LCD panel located on the front of the system.
Outcall™ Paging
/Remote Notify. The Remote Notify system enhances proactive power
management, enabling the Powerware Plus to automatically call for help if power
or equipment problems occur. Remote Notify is an entry-level notification system
in which the Powerware Plus is connected to a phone line via an internal modem.
Remote Notify's outbound and inbound call capabilities save valuable time and
money by directly notifying a pager or personal computer. This alerts the
appropriate network manager or administrator and, in many cases, a problem can
be diagnosed and solved without visiting the site.
The Outcall Paging
feature allows the Powerware Plus to call as many as two telephone numbers
during an emergency. The number of outcalls per event is programmable and the
delay time between outcalls is also programmable.
Software. The
strong integration of software with Exide Electronics UPS hardware provides
additional power protection services for end users. PowerVision management
software is designed to monitor Exide Electronics UPS products, providing the
most sophisticated alarm management and notification tools available. FORESEER™'s
unique interface capability and performance analysis tools identify dangerous
trends, execute corrective action and prevent failures. All Powerware Plus
models above 18kVA have these management software capabilities.
