| Reliance on sensitive electronic
equipment is at an all time high - so is the cost of downtime. When your
critical systems demand reliable power protection, the UPStation¨ GXT
delivers the power backup and conditioning you need.
The UPStation GXT 6 and 10 kVA units offer true on-line power protection
able to protect large groups of critical equipment and theability to keep
pace with your growing power protection needs.
The GXT features easy to operate controls, slide-in communications
options, and simple installation and battery upgrades.
But simplicity is only the start...on line design means superior power
quality even under the worst conditions: sags, surges, even frequency
deviations. And as with all Liebert power equipment, a Liebert
representative or VAR is close by to help with technical and application
questions.
- True On-Line Design
- Protection Against All Power Threats
- Internal SNMP Communications and Other Monitoring Options
- Extended Battery Options
- Standard Two-Year Warranty

Ideal Applications:
- Clusters of workstations, peripherals and internet devices
- RAID arrays, parallel process servers and other large-scale data
handling systems
- LAN gateways, bridges, routers, ATM, ISDN & frame relay applications
- Auper-servers, mini-computers and multiprocessing systems
|
| It is more important than ever to find a UPS
solution that is equipped to handle virtually any power problem. It means
finding a system that fits in -- and communicates with -- the equipment it
is protecting. And above all, it means selecting a UPS that can handle a
wide range of power inputs and still supply clean, precise power for your
vital systems.
UPStation® GXT
With the Liebert UPStation® GXT, your equipment is protected by a
proven, reliable UPS solution that meets the challenges presented by the
protected equipment, the power supply, and the sophisticated user.
- On-Line Protection for Critical Equipment. UPStation®
GXT is designed to address the power problems that commonly threaten
networks and other critical equipment. Surges, sags, outages, generator
operation, and other power anomolies are handle easily by UPStation®
GXT.
- Flexible Battery Back-Up. Liebert's rapid recharge system helps
override multiple outages with its quick recovery. Additional battery
capacity can extend your blackout override period.
- Communications For Power Monitoring and Control. The UPStation®
GXT offers a variety of UPS communications, including SNMP-based options,
to provide the monitoring capabilities demanded by today's network
computing systems.
- Warranty Support You Can Count On. Liebert's standard two-year
warranty ensures repair or replacement of your UPS if it experiences
problems during the warranty period.
- Ongoing Technical Support. We provide you with technical
support for as long as you own a Liebert UPS. A call to 1-800-222-5877
puts you in touch with an experienced UPS specialist. (614-841-6755
outside the U.S.)
- $25,000 Product Protection Promise. Liebert will provide repair
costs or reimbursement up to $25,000 if your UPStation® GXT
fails to protect your connected equipment from damage caused by incoming
AC power line transfers.

Power Handling
A true on-line UPS, the UPStation® GXT is inherently superior for
protecting against the damaging effects of imperfect power:
- Power spikes and transients. Surge protection capability meets
IEEE 587 Category A, IEC 801-2 Level 4, IEC 801-3 Level 3, IEC 801-4 Level
4 and IEC 801-5 Level 3.
- EMI/RFI noise reduction. Full-time EMI/RFI filtering improves
computer performance and helps eliminate minor data corruption and
noise-induced glitches that generate most problems.
- Voltage sags and brownout conditions. UPStation® GXT
has one of the widest input voltage ranges available, so minor low voltage
conditions are corrected without resorting to battery operation. The input
voltage is variable, based upon output load levels. These may drop as much
as 50% below normal before transfer to back-up, reducing the number of
battery discharges and extending service life.
- Harmonics. A special category of noise that causes waveform
distortion, harmonics can be triggered by problems hundreds of miles away
or as near as the next piece of equipment on the network. Because they are
difficult to find and correct, harmonics are best reduced at the UPS. Not
all UPS systems can do that -- the UPStation¨ GXT can.
- Power factor corrected loads. Computer equipment can cause
voltage oscillations and adversely affect devices throughout the network.
The Upstation® GXT maintains stable voltage output even with
the power-factor corrected loads typical of modern computer equipment.
- Outages. With the zero transfer time offered by on-line
technology, flexible battery configurations and the ability to handle
generator-produced power, your network won't even blink during an extended
outage.
|
Battery Operation
The UPStation® GXT features unexcelled battery flexibility. It
can be configured according to your site needs and type of application. The
standard UPStation® GXT provides five to ten minutes of back-up
power at full load. That's longer than 98% of all power outages and enough
time to shut down critical operations in an orderly fashion.
- Zero Transfer Time. When utility power fails, your critical
load remains supported by a seamless flow of power from the UPStation®
GXT. True on-line design means zero transfer time from external to
internal power.
- Maintenance-Free Batteries. The UPStation® GXT uses
sealed, valve-regulated, lead-acid batteries, to provide long,
trouble-free service life.
- Add-On Battery Cabinets. Additional battery cabinets can be
added to provide additional runtime as your needs change.
Integrated Monitoring and Control
The front panel of the UPS provides system status, load levels, battery
capacity remaining and any alarm conditions. It also shows an indication and
diagnosis of UPS fault conditions.

Communications
Hardware and
Software Options
The UPStation® GXT provides the communications capability and
flexibility that is vital to the continuous operation of today's more
complex distributed computing systems.
- Intellislot™ SNMP. The UPStation® GXT
offers internal SNMP, providing communications simplicity not available in
an external SNMP device. SNMP allows monitoring and control of all network
devices in a consistent manner. Internal SNMP installation also saves
space, enhances reliability, and is internally protected by the UPS. This
is an invaluable monitoring and control system for networks operating on
this industry standard.

- SiteNet® SNMP Manager. UPS monitoring software for
Network Management Systems is a series of snap-in screens for your NMS
software. This easy-to-use software seamlessly incorporates your Liebert
UPS into your network and provides user-friendly monitoring and control of
power.
- SiteNet® 1. UPS shutdown software prevents
unexpected server shutdown by automatically monitoring UPS activity and
closing down protected nodes if utility power remains off.
- MultiPort 8 and MultiPort 4. When used in conjunction with
SiteNet® software, the external SiteNet® MultiPort
multiplexer communicates the status of a single UPS to as many as eight
PCs, servers or workstations. When installed in the UPStation¨ GXT
Intellislot, the MultiPort 4 allows communication to up to four PCs,
servers or workstations.
- SiteNet® MultiLink. Multi-platform software allows
monitoring of UPS status, with automatic orderly shutdown of a single
computer or a network of servers. Download this free software from
