Who Needs a Generator?

Well if you are looking at this page you have probably thought about it once or twice. But do you need one? Need is a subjective word so we will start with a list of questions to make it more objective.

  1. Does your business create revenue with the applications running on your servers or equipment supported by your UPS?

Pretty short list, but that pretty much clarifies the definition of a business need. Of course, there are many situations where equipment is only in a supporting role for revenue generation. Each leader must decide how important that resource is, especially when concerning several supporting systems.

What Will a Generator Do For Me?

The main reason why a generator is even necessary is due to the limit runtime of the batteries in your existing UPS. True, you could create a very large battery string to provide for days of runtime. However, you would probably run out of budget and real-estate very quickly. Batteries are very big and expensive to maintain. To make matters worse, the larger the load (i.e. the amount of equipment you are trying to support) the more batteries you will need to provide.

A generator will break the time limit barrier you will face with a battery only solution. You will stop talking about minutes and hours and start talking about days and weeks.

Where Do I Start?

That's where we come in. We have many sources from the leading manufacturers and can help you evaluate which solution best fits your needs. Furthermore, installing a generator involves many decisions that may not have even considered yet. We will help you ask all the right questions to ensure you don't get hung up along the way.
