System Operation

1

An input high isolation ferroresonant transformer provides power to a solid state rectifier, which in turn, creates a regulated DC supply. This supply provides the power requirements for the continuously running inverter.

2

An input high isolation ferroresonant transformer provides power to a solid state rectifier/charger, which in turn, creates a regulated DC supply. This supply charges the battery

3

A sealed maintenance free battery is provided to maintain power to the inverter during a mains failure. The battery is fitted with a suitably rated fuse to provide overload and short circuit protection.

4

A ferroresonant transistorized static inverter transforms the DC voltage coming from either the rectifier or the battery into regulated AC voltage to supply the critical load.
5
An electro/mechanical automatic bypass switch connects the load normally to the inverter. In the case of inverter failure or voluntary shutdown, the load is connected to the utility.

High Efficiency
Uninterruptable Power Supply

Ferroresonant technology reduces circuit complexity which in turn, doubles the factory warranty. The inverter utilizes internal transistor redundancy which will allow up to 20% of the power switching transistors to fail and still provide full load output power. This combination achieves a reliability record envied within the industry. Units are floor-mounted, force cooled UPS systems, with front access for servicing. Cabinets contain air filters and knockouts for interwiring with BX, Romex, or Conduit. The internal module consists of a battery charger, AC-DC converter, DC-AC inverter, and batteries. Above 1.5kVA, a separate battery cabinet is supplied.
