System Operation

1

A solid state rectifier/charger transforms the incoming mains into a regulated DC supply charging the battery.

2

A battery is provided to maintain power to the inverter. The battery is fitted with a suitably rated circuit breaker/fuse to provide overload and short circuit protection and also allows isolation from the UPS for maintenance purposes.

3

A continuously running pulse width modulated transistorized static inverter transforms the battery energy into a loss distortion, no-break, sine wave, AC voltage to supply the critical load.

4

A ferroresonant voltage regulating transformer filters out surges, spikes, electrical noise, lightning spikes, brownouts, and blackouts.

High Efficiency
On Line / No Break

Be ready for virtually any emergency with this Uninterruptible Power System. This pulse width modulated inverter is continuously on, utilizing internal transistor redundancy which allows up to 20% of the power switching transistors to fail and still provide “full load output power”. The AC-IN to AC-OUT operating efficiency is typically 90%, well above a typical on line UPS. The internal construction of each cabinet consists of an AC to DC battery charger, DC to AC inverter and energy storage transformer, and either Sealed Lead Calcium, Refillable Lead Acid, or Refillable Nickel Cadmium Batteries.
