Introduction
The Power Standby Series of valve regulated lead acid
(V.R.L.A.) batteries have been developed and refined
by Power Battery since 1972. It has been the battery of
choice by many of the original equipment manufacturers
throughout the world. Our state of the art V.R.L.A.
design utilizes an absorbed glass mat (A.G.M.) separator
technology to immobilize the battery electrolyte. There is
never any need to add water to the cells and in fact all
vents are factory sealed.
These batteries are the ideal choice for U.P.S., Emergency
Lighting,Switchgear and other standby applications which
need reliable, high rate power. Since these batteries are
low-gassing they require no special ventilation. Additionally,
a compact design makes them perfect for low maintenance
and space restricted applications.
Features

bulletTen year design life.
bulletA recognized component of U.L.
bulletNon-spillable valve regulated lead acid battery (VRLA) design.
bulletAdvanced absorbed glass mat technology
(AGM) with gas recombination greater than 99%.
bulletOperates at a low internal pressure.
bulletNever needs watering, minimal maintenance.
bullet99.7% pure lead calcium grids.
bulletShock absorbent thick wall polypropylene cases.
bulletFlame retardant cases are optional
(TC and SLF models).
bulletTC and SLF models meet U.L. 94.V0 requirements,
and have oxygen index greater than 28%.
bulletCold forged non-porous terminal bushings
eliminate post leakage.
bulletThermally welded cover to case bond, eliminates
both acid and electrical leaks.
bulletOver-sized, through the partition inter-cell
welds provide low resistance connections
with minimal power loss.
bulletEach cell has a low pressure safety release
venting system recognized per U.L. 924.
bulletMeasured high vacuum acid fill reduces
electrical variability between cells.
bullet100% recyclable materials, MSDS.
No transport restrictions

bulletSurface transport. Classified as
non-hazardous material as relates
to
DOT-CFR Title 49 part 171-189.
bulletWater transport. Classified as
non-hazardousmaterial as per IMDG
amendment 27.
bulletAir transport. Complies with
IATA / ICAO, special provision A67.

Electrical specifications

Operating
temperature range

Discharge: -40ºF (-40ºC) to +140ºF (60ºC)
Charge:      -4ºF (-20ºC) to +122ºF (50ºC)

Ideal operating
temperature range

+68ºF (20ºC) to +77ºF (25ºC)

Charge voltage temperature
compensation factor

Temperature correction factor for float
voltage charge is to add 1.7mV/ºF (3mV/ºC)
below 77ºF (25ºC) and subtract 1.7mV/ºF
(3mV/ºC) above 77ºF (25ºC). This correction
factor only applies to temperatures between
32ºF (0ºC) and 104ºF (40ºC)

Maximum charging currents

Partially discharged - self limiting
80% to 100% discharge - C/4 amperes

Storage time from a fully charged condition
