High Temperature Series

After years of extensive research, development and testing, Power Battery Company Inc. introduces our High Temperature (HT) Series batteries.

The HT Series provides normal battery life in elevated temperature environments whichl results in cost savings to the user in several ways; longer battery life, reduced electrical costs, lower cooling costs and less expensive cooling methods on the data center.

Cost Savings

As a result of years of extensive, development and testing, Power Battery Company Inc is now introducing a VRLA battery that can provide “normal” battery life in an elevated temperature environment.

This results in cost savings to the user in several ways:

  • By achieving longer battery life, the cost per year will be reduced.
  • By having the ability to raise the temperature settings in air conditioned cell sites shelters, significant savings can occur in electrical costs.  Some have estimated that by raising the temperature setting by 12-15 degrees, savings in the order of $1,500.00 per shelter can be achieved.
  • By having the ability to raise the controlled temperature in data center battery rooms, the user can enjoy a large savings in electric power costs.
  • By allowing the user to use less expensive cooling methods than air conditioners in most parts of the US and Canada, serious savings can occur in equipment as well as electrical power costs.

Features

  • Ten year design life when in float service at 90oF / 32oC.
  • Temperature excursions up to 105oF / 41oC are allowed for up to 30 days per year without affecting the warranty.
  • Proprietary technology to permit normal life at temperatures up to 90oF / 32oC by reducing grid corrosion and water loss.
  • Valve regulated lead acid battery (VRLA).
  • Absorbed glass mat (AGM) technology with gas recombination greater than 99%.
  • Operates at a low internal pressure.
  • Never needs watering; minimal maintenance.
  • Shock absorbent thick wall container construction that will not permit distortion at high temperatures.
  • Advanced lead tin calcium alloy, reduces grid corrosion and promotes long battery life.
  • Cold forged nonporous terminal bushings; eliminates post leakage.
  • Thermally welded case to cover bond; eliminates both acid and electrical leaks.
  • Over-sized, through the partition inter-cell welds for minimal power loss.
  • Flame arresting, low pressure safety release venting system for individual cells, recognized per U.L. 924.
  • Measured high vacuum acid fill, reduces electrical variability between cells.
  • Terminal and buss-bar covers.

The HT test batteries have a life more than twice the non-HT batteries to 80% of rated capacity
